AFC Fylde is seeking a dedicated 1st Team Physiotherapist/Sports Therapist to play a key role in supporting our Head of Medical and ensuring the highest standards of care for our players. What You’ll Be Doing
- Deliver day-to-day assessment, treatment, rehabilitation, and return-to-play protocols for all football departments.
- Implement injury prevention strategies and assist with annual injury audits.
- Plan and deliver annual screening and physical testing for first team players.
- Provide accurate assessment, diagnosis, and evidence-based injury management.
- Deliver high-quality treatment and rehabilitation sessions, including manual therapy, gym, and pitch-based rehab.
- Maintain accurate medical notes and communicate effectively with the Head of Medical.
- Support fit players with daily maintenance, strapping, and soft tissue massage.
- Attend all home games and travel to away games as required, providing emergency pitch-side cover.
- Support the Academy and Women’s Medical departments as needed.
- Contribute to the education of placement students and drive a culture of continuous improvement.
- Ensure compliance with all club policies, including health and safety, safeguarding, and confidentiality.
About You
Essential Experience:
- BSc (Hons) in Physiotherapy, Sports Therapy, or Sports Rehabilitation, with current registration and insurance (HCPC, CSP, BASRaT).
- Pitch side first aid qualification (ITMMiF minimum; ATMMiF desirable).
- Minimum 2 years’ post-graduate experience in a musculoskeletal setting.
- Experience working with athletes and understanding the demands of professional football.
- Proven ability to manage acute injuries, return-to-play protocols, and interdisciplinary rehab planning.
